Catching up on campus life

The new summer program, which will take place July 13-27, 2019 at the Université de Montréal, was specially designed for international students aged 15 to 17. What’s in store? Themed workshops and language courses, as well as sports and cultural activities that will allow them to take full advantage of the city of Montreal: a cultured, cosmopolitan, creative, and cutting-edge metropolis.

On the program of summer workshops: artificial intelligence, astrophysics, law, architecture, leadership, international studies, and more. Over the course of the summer program, students will be able to delve deeper into subjects that already interest them, all while discovering new fields of study. The true college experience awaits!

In addition to offering new learning experiences every day, the program also provides a unique, international immersion experience on the North American-style campus of a renowned university with a global outlook. Coming in ahead of Paris, London, and Seoul, Montreal is at the top of the list of best college towns in the world. This is your chance to get a taste of student life in the city – who knows, you might want to stick around!

On site, students will be able to take advantage of the pedagogical know-how and fluency of their Canadian hosts to learn how to parler français comme eux. They’ll leave Quebec speaking French more courrament, promise! And for those who are more comfortable with the language of Molière than that of Shakespeare, there are English – and even Mandarin – classes on the program.

All work and no play? Au contraire…

When it comes to culture, Montreal can’t be beat. Whether you prefer activities with a heavy dose of adrenaline or more peaceful pastimes, we’ve got you covered. The summer program allows students to discover the city after class and on weekends, as well as enjoy the great outdoors only a few kilometers from the hustle and bustle of the city - it’s impossible to resist Canada’s natural beauty. With a perfect mix of outdoor getaways and cultural activities, it’ll be love at first sight, guaranteed!

Finally, students will be able to stay active thanks to a variety of sports activities offered during their stay: rock climbing, trampoline, football, street hockey, and even Quidditch (for real!).

In terms of logistics, students will be accompanied from the moment they arrive at the airport and throughout their two weeks in Montreal, and they will be lodged in university residences. Breakfast will be eaten at the residences, and most lunches in university cafeterias. Don’t worry, everyone will get a chance to taste the famous poutine

Ready to sign up? Registration is right here! (Reduced price for enrolment before March 1, 2019.) For more information, write us at summershool@umontreal.ca.
