Respect official deadlines

Your mind is made up and you’re ready to apply? Find out when to submit your application by consulting the description of the study program that interests you. Keep in mind that deadlines for graduate and postgraduate programs depend on the semester.

Official application deadlines

Make sure to check the application deadlines of the graduate or postgraduate programs that you’re interested before submitting your application, as the dates vary from one program to another. You can submit several admission applications for the same study session, for all levels combined.

Note for foreign students

Because of the time needed to complete the formalities for entering Canada and Quebec, the admission period for international applicants ends several weeks before the session begins. Please note that foreign students must allow for 3 to 6 months to complete all the formalities required to study in Canada. If these formalities are not completed in time, you will have to file a new application at a later date.

A message will appear on your application form if there is a risk that the time required to process the application and to send the answer, in addition to the time you will need to acquire study permits, will be too long for you to arrive for the beginning of the session.

You may file an application just the same, but Université de Montréal cannot guarantee that it will respond quickly enough for you to be able to complete all the formalities required to study in Quebec. If the admission deadline for international applicants is past, we suggest that you choose another session to begin your studies. Application fees are not refundable.
