A French program to begin your studies at the Université de Montréal

The Université de Montréal ranks among the best research and teaching institutions in the world. Each year, it welcomes an increasing amount of international talent. No wonder: Canada offers the dual benefits of studying in world-renowned education system, in a country with a wealth of cultural diversity. What if you had a chance to benefit from this opportunity?

The Université de Montréal has launched an online and distance learning program for non-Francophone students who would like to improve their knowledge of French to pursue studies at UdeM.

Achieve the required language proficiency level in 4 months

This four-month program provides the ideal conditions to reach the advanced intermediate level of French proficiency, required for admissibility to most of UdeM study programs.

If you successfully complete this intensive program, you will not have to take an additional French proficiency test to begin your studies at UdeM. The Université de Montréal considers the results of the program to be valid, provided that it has been successfully completed within the 24 months preceding the start of your study program.

Learn to communicate in French in a university environment

  • virtually immerse you in the university environment and introduce you to the teaching approach
  • discover internationally renowned disciplines and curricula
  • experience an enriching cultural immersion on campus, in the city of Montreal via distance learning

Follow the academic pathway

Several study programs are offered at UdeM after the 4-month French program, both at the undergraduate and graduate level:
