Resources and tips for financing your studies

UdeM offers a few tools to help you estimate study costs, plan your budget, find scholarship programs and financial aid available for each level of study.

Immigration formalities

No process is required for Canadian citizens and permanent residents. International students must follow immigration procedures to plan for their arrival in Canada.

If you reside outside Canada, before you arrive in the country, you will need to have:

  • A Quebec Acceptance Certificate (CAQ)
  • A study permit issued by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)
  • In some cases, an entry visa from the Government of Canada or an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA)

Since immigration procedures can take several months, we recommend that you start this as soon as you receive your letter of admission.

To find out more about these immigration procedures, visit the UdeM international website.
